Yes, you can delete your WeChat account and personal information. It does not apply to the WeChat account created in China.
How to delete WeChat account
- Launch the WeChat app.
- Select the Me option in the bottom right corner.
- Continue to Settings.
- Tap on the Account Security menu.
- Open WeChat Security Center.
- Tap Account Cancellation.
- Continue to Request Cancellation.
- Explanation about how this action will affect you, click Close to skip.
- Read the agreement and tap Next.
- Confirm your action by clicking Agree and Confirm Cancellation.
- The last step is choosing Finish and Log out.
